In this beautifully designed illustrated autobiography, renowned designer Geoffrey Bradfield explores 50 years of inspired creativity and innovation. In this, his most personal book, he identifies his various stages as a designer and showcases his own homes in different parts of the world, fashioning them as a kind of litmus test to explore how lifestyle and personal design style converge. The narrative follows him from his early years in South Africa, to his time in London during the wild and wonderful Carnaby Street years, and on to New York City in the 1970s. There he partnered with Jay Spectre and eventually took over his business, which continues to thrive today. Over the course of his long and well-regarded career, he has accrued numerous awards, including recognition as a 'Dean of American Design' by Architectural Digest, and a lifetime achievement award from the New York School of Interior Design. AUTHOR: Raised in South Africa's Eastern Cape, and with an established early career in Johannesburg, interior designer Geoffrey Bradfield moved to New York in the 1970s. After working for the eminent interiors firm McMillen Inc., he became partner to the late Jay Spectre, ultimately reorganising the company under the Bradfield name. He currently runs his design firm along with partner Roric Tobin. Bradfield's work has been prolifically published in magazines, including Elle Decor, Veranda, Interior Design, Esquire, House Beautiful, Metropolitan Home and many others. His television appearances include a profile on CNBC's High Net Worth, CNN's Style with Elsa Klensch, ICS City Beat and a one-hour special on his firm broadcast on HGTV. He is the author of six previous books.
