Come Together is a compelling account of a crucial period of post-Sixties Beatle history, providing a new look at the Lennon-McCartney relationship during the Seventies. It also offers fresh insight on the musical ambitions and personal motivations for renewing a creative alliance that so nearly happened but was thwarted by circumstances beyond their control. Set primarily in Los Angeles, New York City and New Orleans, the book explores their separate paths, reconciliation and the ever-present possibility of a renewed creative partnership. As one of the worlds greatest songwriting partnerships they no longer had anything to prove - other than perhaps to each other - but each knew their names would be forever linked together.

Richard White is the author of Young Soul Rebels, the well-received Omnibus biography of Dexys Midnight Runners in 2005. Having worked as a reviewer and manuscript editor, he wrote about The Stone Roses for Clash and Record Collector in 2011, and a Roses’ biography, Your Star Will Shine in 2012. White worked on Soul Survivor, a book exploring Stevie Wonder’s seminal mid-Seventies albums, and wrote a 40th Anniversary feature on Wonder’s Innervisions in 2013.

Informed by many interviews and recollections from insiders, Come Together is an antidote to the media notion of professional partners driven apart by rivalry and grudges. Offering an intriguing new perspective on the personal relationship and solo careers of John Lennon and Paul McCartney in the decade following the breakup of The BeatlesIn retelling their story it shows the more complex and often much warmer relationship of John Lennon and Paul McCartney, post-Beatles.
