The central character and narrator is Henry Barraclough, recently retired as Head of English at a British public school. Enraged at what he sees as his grossly unfair treatment by the school, he uses seven leftover exercise books to tell his side of the story. It is a brutally honest account of an intensely sexual, secret love affair that destroys his career and potentially his life
Mick Le Moignan studied English at Cambridge University and has written in almost every format. For Corroboree Films and ABC-TV, he produced documentaries about the contemporary life and culture of First Nations Australians. In the UK, he made 100+ programs for BBC-TV and was story and script editor on the long-running, popular drama series, Eastenders and The Bill. Moving back to academia, he worked with Stephen Hawking to secure funding for the Hawking Building at Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge and returned to Australia in 2009 to fundraise for the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. The English Teacher is his first novel.
