Cradled All the While is a beautifully crafted memoir in which the author recounts the story of her mother's death from cancer. In the midst of career and child-rearing, Corse becomes her mother's primary caregiver, but her story is a spiritual journey that will nurture the faith of people of many religious backgrounds. The themes encountered throughout the book parallel the issues dealt with in practical grieving resources; here, however, they are played out in the lives of a real family.
Dr. Sara J. Corse is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years experience working with individuals, couples and organizations. She has a busy practice of psychotherapy and presents workshops and seminars on managing stress, balancing work and family and grief and loss. Sara Corse received her M.A. and Ph.D. in clinical/community psychology from the University of Maryland in 1987. Her undergraduate work was completed at the University of Rochester. Cradled All the While: The Unexpected Gifts of a Mother's Death is Sara Corse's first book written for a general audience. She has published academic articles and book chapters, presenting her research on the impact of a manager's pregnancy on workplace relationships, the absence of support networks in families with child abuse, and the effectiveness of new treatment models for individuals with challenging behavioral health concerns. Dr. Corse is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Gestalt International Society. She has presented her academic work at various local and national conferences and symposia. She speaks at churches and community forums on the topics of simplicity, grieving and caring for the dying and their families. Sara Corse lives with her husband and three teenage children in Philadelphia. Her passion is figure skating, which she began learning as an adult. Sara serves on the session of her church, where she also chairs the Youth Ministry Council and teaches in the Adult Lay Academy.

"I recently read Dr. Sara Corse's manuscript Cradled all the While. I recommend strongly the publishing of this valuable personal history on Sara's relationship with her mother through life and the dying process. The book is well written, and psychologically very sophisticated. It is hard to put down. Sara's description of complex relationships, her needs, and the acceptance of needs unmet, are stories to which thousands of people will related. The working through of the emotions, desires, and wishes will be points of identification and direction for many readers." -- Stephen R. Treat "DMin, LMFT Director and CEO"
