Thriving through Breast/Prostate Cancer Treatment to Recovery provides direction for patients through diet, exercise, and mental health plans tailored to treatment protocol and cancer type. This valuable guide offers ready-to-use information from leading scientific studies synthesized into practical self-care actions to remediate damage and reduce short and long-term effects during and after cancer treatment. Organized into 5 easy chapters, the book summarizes the effects of chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, and hormone therapy; catalogs potential side effects; and includes recipes, an exercise guide, and mental health therapy suggestions based on symptoms and predictable side effect risks to enhance quality of life and improve outcomes.
Lisa A. Price, ND, is in private practice in Seattle and is an adjunct faculty member at Bastyr University. She is a National Institutes of Health Research Fellow (2005-2010), and prior to becoming a naturopathic physician worked professionally as a research scientist. She has a B.S. in microbiology and an M.S. in biochemistry.
