He is the editor of The Organization of Higher Education: Managing Colleges for a New Era. Philip G. Altbach (CHESTNUT HILL, MA) is a research professor and the founding director of the Center for International Higher Education at Boston College. He is the author of Global Perspectives on Higher Education. Patricia J. Gumport (STANFORD, CA) is a professor of education and the director of the Stanford Institute for Higher Education Research at Stanford University.
