Watsu (R) is an innovative water-based therapy with roots in Japanese Zen Shiatsu. Serving as a practitioner guide, this book provides the clinical tools, research, therapeutic assessments and models for therapists around the world to integrate Watsu (R) techniques into their practice. Using frameworks that are within the realms of aquatic rehabilitation, integrative medicine and wellness program models, the authors discuss the current research that is being documented and explain how therapists can use Watsu (R) techniques for work with clients with PTSD, chronic pain and neuromuscular disorders, as well as in palliative and hospice care and pediatric settings.
Harold Dull was the creator of Watsu (R) and founder of the Worldwide Aquatic Bodywork Association (WABA). He was the author of several self-published titles on Watsu. He lived in Berkeley, California. Harold Dull worked with Ingrid Keating on this project until his death in July 2019. Many people will be interested in the book as part of his legacy. Ingrid Keating is a Licensed Acupuncturist, Licensed Occupational Therapist, Watsu Practitioner, and WABA Board member on the Science and Research Committee. She lives in Cincinnati, Ohio.
