She has written and edited numerous books including Rembrandt: Studies in His Varied Approaches to Italian Art (Brill, 2020), Rembrandt's Reading: The Artist's Bookshelf of Ancient Poetry and History (Amsterdam University Press, 2003) and The Eye of the Poet: Studies in the Reciprocity of the Literary and Visual Arts (Bucknell University Press, 1996).
