Anna Chesner, MA is a UKCP registered psychodrama and group analytic psychotherapist and has been qualified as a supervisor for over twenty years. She has trained dramatherapists, integrative counsellors and psychotherapists and is course director of the London Centre for Psychodrama Group and Individual Psychotherapy Training in Creative Supervision. She has presented her work in creative supervision in the UK and internationally at the Federation of European Psychodrama Training Organisation conference, Jerusalem 2011. She has written extensively on supervision and action methods.
The value of dramatherapy as an action-based method for this client group; goals; structuring a session; central dramatherapeutic exploration within the session; inter-disciplinary therapy; reflections on process; considerations for the future.
This is a well-written book that offers insights into both dramatherapy and the world of institutionalized adults; it will thus be valuable not only to dramatherapists, but to all those who work with the mentally retarded. In fact, its appeal is likely to be universal because of Chesner's sensitivity as a therapist and the thoughtfulness of her case descriptions.
