This highly illustrated autobiography tells the story of iconic singer/songwriter Pauline Murray's journey from a small mining village in the North East of England through national recognition as a key member of the early punk scene, navigating the post-punk landscape with the Invisible Girls and the successful reformation of her original band, Penetration in 2001.
Pauline Murray is best known as the lead vocalist for the British punk band Penetration. She was part of the infamous 'Durham Contingent' - a young group of Sex Pistols fans who used to follow the band around. Subsequent to the split of Penetration, Murray worked with the Invisible Girls - a post punk outfit helmed by Joy Division producer Martin Hannet. This period of time saw her collaborate with members of Durutti Column and the Buzzcocks. Pauline has two children and currently lives in Newcastle.
